Come to play, watch, and now, even learn.
Shepparton Sports Stadium is the new home of the Greater Shepparton Sports Hall of Fame display, with a fresh digital experience providing greater access for residents to learn about those from the Shepparton region who have gone on to achieve inspirational sporting success across various codes.
A 43-inch interactive screen was unveiled on Wednesday that allows users to browse inductee profiles and learn about their sporting achievements, as well as view footage from previous induction ceremonies.
The new screen relocates the sports hall of fame exhibit from Riverlinks, placing the information about Shepparton’s honourable athletes in the town’s sporting heartland, at the multi-purpose sports stadium that resides nearby to hockey and netball courts and soccer fields.
"The new Hall of Fame display will provide greater visibility and accessibility for residents and visitors to learn about the inspiring stories of local sportspeople who have gone on to represent our region, state and nation across a wide range of sports," City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said.
"The new technology and location at the Shepparton Sports Stadium will ensure the legacy of these athletes is preserved and celebrated for generations to come."
The Greater Shepparton Sports Hall of Fame was established in 2017, and has had four induction ceremonies, held generally every three years in 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2025.
The most recent ceremony welcomed 11 inductees.
